REGGAE SUNSPLASH  2006  - St Ann's Bay,  JAMACIA
International DJ SupaMario and Lion Paw Production booked a flight from California to Jamaica.  The flight was nice, did I mention we had first class.  Wow, I would love to fly first class all the time.  It's a big differance than flying in tight row seating, elbow to elbow for 6 hours straight - "no thanks" not again, now I'm spoiled......  We arrived in Montego Bay.  We were greeted with smiles all the way in the taxi that drove us to our resort.  We stayed for 10 days with all you can eat and drink in beautiful Ochos Rios, JA.  I decided to lounge on the beach watch the waves and jet ski's go by till the sun went down. I know this was decadence and, I tell you, it was so nice and the water was at right around 87 degrees all day and night.  The food at the Riu, was very good. We had fresh fish, plenty of plaintains and steamed vegetables everyday.  We had arrived in Ochos Rios 3 days before so that we could rest and relax in the sun before the event - "SunSplash 2006".  We were really looking forward to this event and for this event to ignite a spark in our already positive reggae life.  Reggae music is a very positive part of our lives. Cost of a VIP All-Access ticket was $500.00 for the 4 days of Sunsplash.. VIP All-Access tickets were advertised and marketed to include - reserved sky box seating, front of stage access, unlimited drinks and food and back-stage access. We paid for and arranged our VIP All-Access tickets well in advance of the trip.  We were thrilled to give support.   Well, if you go next year (We'll return to Jamaica next year, but not for SunSplash), do not purchase the VIP All-Access ticket 'cause you won't be getting no VIP nothing.  Be prepared to 'rough it' - no joke.  The organizers should be posting amends.  It is too bad as the crowd was an experience and many of the artists' performances were very good, but every other aspect of the organization and accommodations were not happening at all - that includes the sound, lighting, grounds - mud and more mud, and oh, those nasty latrines (bathrooms), etc....
Jamaica was beautiful and above and beyond the spoils of the SunSplash, our trip was a relaxing and eventful vacation.  We got the spark we were looking for from the beautiful waters, people, food and vibe of Jamaica.

Ragga Muffin Legends of Reggae Festival 2008- Long Beach, CA
International DJ SupaMario alongside Lion Paw Production and friends looked forward to this festival, in which you can say would be  the jump off for for Regge festivals of the new year.  This festival has changed greatly from years past. It is much smaller in terms of artists and attendees. With the number of artists in the line-up, it could have been a successful one-day event. However, it was stretched to two days with repeated acts. The shopping was great with nice vendors. The sound was very poor and therefore, the artists simply did not sound good. The MC's did not project or set a positive vibes and bascially stumbled and tripped over themselves and their words throughout both days. The DJ's spinning played some good tunes, but then again the sound was so poor it was hard to enjoy. It sounded like a heavy mental concert bleeding evry harmany with gains (controls on the sound board) at full tilt. Hopefully this fest will step up in years to come.  If not, I can't say I'd return or recommend attending. One shining star was the Jamaican food vendors and some delicious Jamaican cuisines!
Big question ...this year it was'nt called "The Annual Bob Marley Day Festival" why?
Bless-it!
